The showbiz world is full of couples with huge age gaps as loved-up celebrities including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas prove age is just a number
There's a ton of celebrity couples with huge age gaps in Hollywood.
Catherine Zeta-Jones shocked fans when she announced she was getting married to 56-year-old Michael Douglas when she was 31 – but 22 years and two kids later the couple are stronger than ever.
Meanwhile, Dr Who star David Tennant and actress Georgia Moffatt have a 14-year-old age gap, but they're the proud parents of five kids and happily married.
These May-December romances – as they're called – have faced their fair share of criticism, with some saying anything more than five years difference in age is awkward.
But as a whole host of celebrities have proved, age is just a number, so here's the lowdown on the couples who don't mind the gap.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas – 25 years
Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, tied the knot with Michael Douglas, 78, in 2000 after meeting in a bar.
Eyebrows were raised when the then 31-year-old beauty married an actor 25 years her senior, but Michael told Jonathan Ross in 2016 he told the star he was going to be father of her children.
His prediction was right and 22 years later the showbiz couple are the proud parents of son Dylan and daughter Carys.
Kris Jenner and Corey Gamble – 25 years
Kris, 67 and Corey, 42, have been dating since 2014, following the momager's split with longtime spouse Caitlyn Jenner.
There were rumours the mum-of-six and Justin Bieber's manager were going to wed in secret, however Kris has since said she's got no plans to walk down the aisle again.
She often rocks the red carpet with Corey looking like she couldn't care less about their difference age.
Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford – 22 years
Ally McBeal actress Calista Flockhart, 58, and Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford, 80 have been together since 2002 and wed in 2010.
Before their relationship, dad-of-four Harrison Ford had been married twice. He later adopted Calista's son Liam.
"I'm in love," he said of his partner in a 2003 interview. "Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life. I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn't surprised that I did."
Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman – 18 years
Sworn batchelor Simon Cowell, 63, met Lauren Silverman, 45, in 2014.
The X Factor mogul always said he'd never get married, but after Lauren gave birth to the couple's son Eric, Simon popped the question in 2021.
The couple were supposed to be getting married last year, however they're still said to be in the planning stages of the star-studded event.
George and Amal Clooney – 17 years
George and Amal Clooney have a pretty significant age gap between them, but the ER star said of meeting the lawyer, 45, in 2013: “I thought she was beautiful, and I thought she was funny and obviously smart".
He also told the Hollywood Reporter that Amal “probably thought I was old."
However, the two were married in 2014, and welcomed twins Alexander and Ella later that year.
Elton John and David Furnish – 15 years
Elton John, 75, is 15 years older than Canadian filmmaker David Furnish, however the couple are proud parents of two sons and enjoy a luxuriously lavish lifestyle.
Speaking about his relationship with his husband to Ellen de Generes in 2016, Elton said: "If you'd had said to me 10 years ago I'd be sitting on your show married to the man I love and have two beautiful children I would have said, 'You put acid in my drink.'.
David Tenant and Georgia Moffet – 13 years
Dr Who star David, 51 and Georgia, 38, have been married for over 10 years and have five children together.
They met while David was on set as the time lord in an episode of the BBC show in which his future wife was playing his daughter..
