STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Season 10 of the hit prank TV show “Impractical Jokers” is well underway, and James “Murr” Murray, Sal Vulcano and Brian “Q” Quinn have already gotten into some hilarious hijinks.
Staten Islander Quinn, 47, recently spoke to the Advance/SILive.com about this latest season, the guest he’s still not over having on the show, and the message he has for Staten Island.
HOW OFTEN THEY FILM ON STATEN ISLAND
According to Quinn, Staten Island has sort of become a no-go zone when it comes to filming.
“We rarely shoot on Staten Island these days, unfortunately, because we’re a little too well known on Staten Island,” admitted Quinn. ”We’re not like Pete Davidson, Colin Jost level, but we’re [famous] enough that we can’t shoot on Staten Island.”
WHERE — AND WITH WHOM — DID THEY LAST FILM IN THE BOROUGH?
While the borough might not be featured super often on the show anymore, Staten Islanders will see a familiar site — and face — in Season 10.
“We got Bruce Campbell who plays Ash in the ‘Evil Dead’ movies to come to Staten Island, and we took a cabin at Pouch Camp [and] turned it into an ‘Evil Dead’ type thing and shot a punishment [there].”
Getting Campbell on the show was a big accomplishment for Quinn, a horror-movie buff. It was also a dose of nostalgia for the longtime Staten Islander.
“I was a Boy Scout here on Staten Island and that cabin that we shot in was one that, when I was a kid, we used [for] a haunted house every year. … It was really one of the things that got me into horror. So to go back and shoot in that same cabin with Bruce Campbell was a really special thing for me. I’m still not over it.”

HOW THEY STILL COME UP WITH HILARIOUS PUNISHMENTS
After 10 years on the air, how is the “Impractical Jokers” crew still coming up with hilarious punishments? Quinn credited the show’s team of writers — many of whom are also Staten Islanders — for the creative and uproarious shenanigans, as well as the celebrities who agree to guest appearances.
“We’ll sit in a room at the beginning of every season and just pitch ideas. … When we started having celebrities on the show, there was in a weird way a new inspiration. … these guests that we’ve been having, it’s been very inspirational.”
Still, said Quinn, “at the end of the day, it’s just goofing on our friends and that never gets old.”
MESSAGE TO STATEN ISLAND
Quinn and his “Jokers” buddies have always been proud of Staten Island, and appreciate the support they’ve gotten over the years.
“We’ve never been an embarrassment to the borough, I’ve heard,” he joked. “For the most part, Staten Island has been so warm and accepting to us. We genuinely love this Island, and I genuinely love the Island and the people who live here.
“Thank you Staten Island for allowing us to kind of hold that banner, and trusting us not to embarrass you too much.”
“Impractical Jokers” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on truTV and TBS.
