Los Angeles-based Austrian chef Wolfgang Puck was in charge of the food for Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, the Oscars party. It was the chef’s 29th year catering for Academy Awards, for which he developed an extensive menu for all tastes.
This year, the chef and restaurateur commissioned British chef Elliot Grover to cook. He gathered around 115 chefs from across his network for the 95th Academy Awards.

Who is Wolfgang Puck?
Born in Austria, chef Wolfgang Puck, specialises in combining classic French techniques with Californian and Asian influences by procuring fresh locally sourced ingredients from California’s bountiful agriculture.
He is a recipient of two Michelin stars, an award given to restaurants offering outstanding cooking. One was given to Puck’s restaurant CUT Beverly Hills in 2007, and the other one was awarded to him for CUT at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. Puck was also inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in 2013.
Over the years, he has built a successful brand that includes three companies–Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, Wolfgang Puck Worldwide Inc. and Wolfgang Puck Catering.
His company, Wolfgang Puck Catering, curates the menu for the Governors Ball every year and includes a team of globally renowned chefs.
In 2017, Puck received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his work in the TV industry. He had a TV series, titled Wolfgang Puck, which was aired for five seasons.

Chef Puck shared a glimpse of the menu on Instagram featuring delicacies which were suitable to each attendee-from vegetarians and vegans to gluten-free dishes.

The offerings included canapes such as spicy tuna tartare in miso sesame cones, jalapeno fritters, vegan soup dumplings, chicken waffles, cod bouillabaisse and cacio e pepe.
Not only this, but the celebrity chef also made sure each attendee took home an Oscar made of gold-dusted chocolate.

At the end of the night, the food waste is not thrown. Instead, it is sent to a charity called Chefs to End Hunger, while the food scraps are composted.
