Zaya Wade just debuted a hair metamorphosis. The model and activist appeared on the latest cover of Dazed and Confused magazine sporting a “mixie” haircut, a popular haircut trend that we’ve seen pop up repeatedly over the last month. Celebrity hairstylist Miles Jeffries created the look for Wade, which was shared on March 16 via Instagram. Wade’s take on the trend features a deep side part and side-swept bangs.
The cut, which first began gaining traction in January 2022, is similar to the “bixie.” “A mixie is an edgy haircut that is longer in the back, like a mullet, and short, like a pixie, in the front,” celebrity hairstylist Jenny Cho previously told POPSUGAR. The cut is great for all hair types and textures and is known for its versatility when it comes to styling.
The mixie has become a popular choice for celebrities, with stars like Lisa Rinna, Bella Hadid, and Kristen Stewart all wearing the look.
